Where has all the food gone? New mouths-to-feed are born every second on Mother Earth. Every, and each, human you talk to, see, hear about, or smell, if you’re into that kind of thing, is another living entity that needs to consume and excrete if it’s to survive and propagate the species, which is the inbred, instinctive desire in us all.

Better than one-third of the world’s current population is living in third world countries that are striving to pull themselves by the boot strings into the modern world we all take for granted here in North America. Diving headfirst into the maelstrom of the current of the new green-age in search of the golden trinkets the industrialized nations have been picking and eating for over a hundred years.

The price of food is of rising-concern for the world, especially the third world, with the increased price of what they consider daily staples, these are the food requirements to keep life stapled together, not have the extra to consider propagating the species, not that this will stop anybody from attempting to propagate, human nature being what it is. Bread, rice, air, water...all have increased in price, some in more overt terms than the obvious effects of the increase in bread and rice for those whose daily staples include these foods, but then the price of water and air to each individual hasn’t really been quantified to this point.

Just the same most of the conception that there isn’t enough food in the world to sustain the current human bio-mass, fear is what drives the commodity markets and therefore the average price of everything traded in the world. Point of view in an individualistic universe is everything to the individual, the hungry usually think food is often beyond the price life is able to pay, while the “fat-cat” may admit the price of everything is on the rise, yet obtain more then they need to live, at the expense of others.

The food stores grown around the world each growing season are still sufficient to sustain the current human bio-mass threatening to overwhelm Mother Earth. Nobody on the planet, would starve or go hungry if it wasn’t for the politics of life, the intervention of the human sins in the affairs of hunger, humans only starve because of humans.

Logistics is apparently a profitable business, the transportation of food stores across the planet to areas effected by food shortages has increased the price of these food stores for the people effected, and transporting the goods to the areas effected isn’t the most cost effective or logical course of action to take to alleviate the problem of world hunger anyway. The system in place is more designed to fatten the pockets and lifestyle of other humans making a living off of transporting goods, not feeding the people, the only way to feed the people is to give them the skills to provide for themselves and then to teach others.

The only sustainable solution is for humans to reach out with a guiding, helping hand, not a superior thinking hand, to help hungry nations develop the ability to feed their people. To work with them toward a sustainable way of life, one where the available land, water, air and therefore food stores grown can sustain the population living on the land and we have a lot to learn in this regard in North America ourselves, but together we can find solutions.

The shekels to pay for such a program are already being thrown into the garbage dumps, and into the pockets of “fat-cats” every day, we just need to refocus human efforts towards recycling and reusing all available resources when possible and protecting what we do have for the future.

All life on the planet is inevitably linked, whether we want to admit it or not, we turn in a square dance, hand in hand moving inevitably forward toward a future inevitably linked to the future of all life on Mother Earth. What this future holds is up to us as the life making the daily choices that has painted the ugly picture we see on Mother Earth, individual choices we each make every day, that effects the overall picture for all life engaged in the cycle of life on the planet.

Can we complete the dance if some break the chain of life in fear, frustration, anger or selfishness, time will tell, the only real truth at the moment is that many of your fellow humans are less concerned about world hunger than others, while others are more concerned about the profits to be made with this growing problem that they hope will grow and grow with their profits, and this is the real tragedy of human hunger on planet Earth.
