Prince George, British Columbia –

The planet Earth is a beautiful piece of real estate; while not as beautiful as it use to be it still is the only place we know human life can exist in the foreseeable future on a permanent basis. No matter how we as humans might feel about each other were all going to have to learn to live together or die together if we decide we just can’t stand what our neighbour is doing?

Prince George is a remarkable place in many respects, being nestled in a river valley in one of the most beautiful spots in the world, and benefiting from a wonderful climate and abundance of natural resources, one of the most remarkable elements of which are the people who are fortunate enough to live and work in one of the best countries in the world.

Certainly, as in all humans, there is more of the unwise, of the foolish in the citizens of this little piece of Canada, then there is of the wise. Many of my fellow citizens would be guilty of having hatred in their heart for people who they generalize in their minds as a part of a visible group of society, composed of both those considered members of a visible minority thought of as a separate “race”, something that has been proven to be in error with modern science, and individuals deemed unwanted within society because of life style choices.

Bias is a human condition that we all suffer from at times, but is a inherited trait from a time when the world was smaller and the future of the planet and the life forms, currently living on its surface, weren’t as interlinked in the survival of all. Racism as it exists in the world can be found in all walks and geographical locations of the planet, seems to be a common form of insanity that certainly in the newer generations is being seen less in cities like Prince George, but just as assuredly it still exists in all its forms.

Signs can be found in the reactions of many of its citizens to many elements within its boundaries, and often this is accepted for a time or even encouraged, depending of course on which of Prince George’s citizens you are dealing with. Just as assuredly there have been signs in the last few years of a chancing of the guard as it be, of a different way of looking at those within Prince George society who have traditionally been held in less then esteem.

A welcome change this is in the world, we have enough issues to deal with as it is, without having to cope with ideas proven to be erroneous in nature, and certainly without merit, honour or logic attached.

We still have away to go here in red-neck insanity central, but at least the light I see coming down the tunnel between outdated race beliefs and new ideas concerning the relationship between all humans, doesn’t appear to be a train, although I will be keeping my running shoes on, just in case.

Many modern humans are savage beasts, who have been taught to believe all the universes mysteries are found, that man has been made in the image of a creator both omnipresent and absolute and the heaven and Earth were made for human kind, their kind, whatever that is?
If this is true, how unfortunate, we are indeed.
