Canada –
You’ve gotten rid of your 8 cylinder, gas-guzzling, greenhouse gas producing machine, switched to using organic chemicals and eating foods in a bid to save the planet, and even opted to ride your bike or walk more often.
Were all looking for alternatives to the traditional items we have been using for decades in our daily lives, things that have come to be normal in use, but that we now know to be toxic or harmful in the long run to us and the planet, and we all have used and some still continue to use these products every day, but this must change if we are to tackle successfully the environmental problems on our planet.
Entrepreneurs, scientists and inspiring scientists, concerned humans and governments around the planet are currently engaged in a process designed to change the way we do many traditional things on the planet. One change is the fabrics the clothes manufacturers, and all manufacturers, make their products from and while the products are currently a little more expensive, the prices will come down as the demand increases, reviews indicate the clothes are just as beautiful, soft and comfortable as clothes made from more traditional materials, such as cotton.
Companies around the world are currently testing materials of all types to find the best green-fabric to replace traditional fabrics that aren’t as friendly to the environment, ones where the processing doesn’t require chemicals and the growing doesn’t involve the use of non-organic fertilizers or pesticides that poison the environment, such as cotton.
Bamboo skirts, soy hats, even a few hemp shirts, itchy as they might be, will be seen in the future once environmentalist and manufactures have their say, and a few years from now well all probably be saying, why didn’t we do this earlier?
The possibilities are just being examined, so hang onto that favourite old cotton shirt with the beer stains, pretty soon you won’t be able to buy one, without breaking the bank that is.
There will be replacements for all the materials we need to replace and this in itself is creating a new world of promise, driving innovative and concerned humans to delve into new areas never even thought of before, and changing the way we think about the relationship between all life on spaceship Earth. Creating new business and green-jobs, hope and promise, empathy and understanding, and producing a new generation of Earth-friendly humans ready to face the challenges before us.
Maybe, the future looks brighter then we thought just beyond the carbon haze surrounding us, and we can see a light down the tunnel, or is that a...
